One of my favourite things that songwriters do is the contrast between cheerful music and depressing lyrics. It tickles my brain and feels illegal 🤭 The perfect example of that is Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Alone Again (Naturally)". The wiki sums up the lyrics nicely, and boy are they grim: "In the first verse, the singer contemplates suicide after having been left at the altar; in the second, he wonders if there is a God; finally, he laments the death of his parents". My other favourite example is "Turn my life down" by Jefferson Airplane. Sure we do! Of all the herbs it's parsley and cilantro that I restock constantly. I use parsley in most of the pastas I cook, and also as a garnish to soups. Parsley is also a great base for a pesto, just blend it together with some nuts, garlic and oil, bellissima🤌 Since the stalks are a bit woody, I only use leaves when cooking and store the stalks in the fridge. Then I add them to broths, they give a lot of flavour and colour.
