Do you know how much $$$ you need to never work again? I started tracking my expenses at the end of 2021, so finally I have 3-year statistics. This is how much I've spent each year, not including travel: - 2022 - $8400 - 2023 - $6612 - 2024 - $5876 My lifestyle has gotten more conscious and sustainable throughout the years, explaining the downward trend that contradicts inflation. Travel cost me either $900 or $2500 a year - depending on the number and intensity of trips. So basically if I had $10k a year I would feel very comfortable, with a bit to spare πŸ’œ To get that much in passive income I would need to invest from $100k (10% APY) to $200k (5% APY). Which is what some people earn from a couple of shitcoin trades πŸ˜† And if I want to have kids someday, that amount would probably have to be doubled. My wish for this year is to start receiving that passive income, hopefully I'll be able to amass enough capital πŸ™ How big is that number for you? Or maybe you already live on passive income?

Wait what!!! wow. This is super interesting. Tracked mine after seeing your post and I was shocked (didn't expect it to be that much) but I didn't even travel so 'retirement income' is probably a bit higher but not as much as I imagined

I'm glad my cast affected you that way ☺️ I actually started seriously pondering passive income when someone said they could sell some property for $100k and live off the passive income it generated, I was like "Wait... I could live on that for a year...". The numbers didn't click for me before that πŸ˜… I'm curious, how much is your yearly spending?

Give or take around $8000. There's some miscellaneous here and there like domain purchase/renewals or temporary tech subscriptions but I don't count them since I could do without and adding them don't change much. Although, I'd add that I had little to no emergencies (health, family, etc) so you'd need to account for that at least have it set aside since you can't control things like that. Also didn't make any big purchases (yk, new work machine, new phone, window shopping, etc). So If I'm to give a number from all of this, 20k in passive income is actually good enough at least at my current spending rate
