Knee pain? Chondral defects of knee may be extremely disabling. Diagnosis by MRI but good standard is arthritis

Struggled with knee pain (following acl knee surgery 20 yrs ago) for six months now, but appears to be resolving with high doses of glucosamine/chondroitin, astaxanthin and needling/cupping.

Can’t say much about the studies, but based on results i’m going to keep taking. “Some research indicates that astaxanthin may help preserve cartilage, the protective tissue in joints, by reducing its degradation and promoting the synthesis of collagen, a key component of cartilage. “

Glucosamine and chondroitin were popular recommendations in the past an even had support from the academy of orthopedic surgeons. I don’t have info on astaxanthin, but likely similar. Is it expensive to buy? Activity like biking is great and exercise is actually chondroprotective. 👌🏾

Slightly expensive. 120 days for $55. My naive hypothesis would be Glucosamine/Chondroitin is raw material, astaxanthin is the catalyst and seem great together. I didn’t have much improvement with g/c alone. Anyways, whatever i’m doing seems to be working so sticking with it. For a long time i couldn’t bike as it would swell bad after.
