Hey everyone! I'm currently conducting some research on web3 mail systems like Mail3, Enthermail, and Dmail, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Do you think a web3 mail is actually necessary, or is this just a false assumption? I'd love to hear your opinions and insights on this topic!

I mean email is already decentralized in theory, but in practice most people can’t run an email server in their home and end up making a Faustian bargain with Google, Microsoft et al. A web3 version that is simple enough for normal users and has better incentive alignment would be great.

Interesting read. I’ve never tried hosting my own email server but have considered giving it a go with proton mail. I didn’t expect the deliverability problems to be as bad as described here but it wouldn’t surprise me if his account is accurate.
