Both Reddit and X hiveminds are generally negative. The exceptions are subreddits or niche X communities that don’t surface much to the mainstream That said, X users actually wield power and can channel their negativity into action, whereas Redditors are mostly impotent I suspect that’s why X feels more toxic as a whole

fair, but I still would love to see some sort of transparent "toxicity" analysis metric with weighting based on what people actually engage with to filter out bots the hivemind thinking of the day is "social media toxic" and I think that biases our assessment of what we read on there I mainly see jokes, crypto analysis, sports analysis, politics analysis, when I open twitter I'm a simple chrono feed person tho, could be an algo user problem (many such cases)
