Both Reddit and X hiveminds are generally negative. The exceptions are subreddits or niche X communities that don’t surface much to the mainstream That said, X users actually wield power and can channel their negativity into action, whereas Redditors are mostly impotent I suspect that’s why X feels more toxic as a whole

both are amazing fodder for distillation. imho, twitter is definitely more competition-coded, whereas reddit is more of a "informatively viral", but I think there's either example in both platforms. I also think X is distinctly more finance-approximate (timing/reach matters for dealflow), whereas reddit has always been casual (e.g. tipping entertaining comments and moving on). I do think there should be more emphasis on social networks gaining potency in the form of aggregate purchasing power.
