Bananas Foster. This is a very fancy feeling dessert with lots of drama but it requires no oven and only one pan and comes together in less than 10 minutes. I serve with Sara Lee frozen pound cake and a can of off-brand whipped cream. It's very good over ice cream, and I often serve over pancakes.

Low and slow. Dutch oven recipes are really easy, and you could use a crockpot or instapot. Brown your meat and veg, add herbs and liquid, bring to a boil, turn down the heat, and cook for many hours. This took about 5 hours for a 7lb chuck roast. You could sub a pork shoulder or bone-in chicken thighs!

Last September, last trip of the season, we packed this chair on our very last mule so Danny Boi had a cozy throne, and my hat and chaps for shelter. He frolicked in the snow the whole ride back to the pack station.
