We have a perfect house for solar, haven’t put it on because we’re woo woo enough that we didn’t want the inverter added to the mix of energy pollution in our house while the kids were young, and were waiting til we replaced the roof. Was definitely the Wild West for awhile with SRECs solar residential energy credits - so many incentives for the companies to push… We get salesmen knocking multiple times per year.

Brix, I hate this. Holy moly. I wish they would leave people alone. It feels so predatory

Money is a powerful motivator. In Mass the programs really kicked in gear during the summer of Obama’s Green New Deal - and initially it was about creating good paying installation (green jobs) for residents of our “gateway” cities - the old industrial towns which haven’t advanced like the greater Boston. Energy retrofitting, insulation, and the like. Still making an overall positive impact here, but agreed language etc needs to be more clear especially for older residents. I would say at least 30-40% of our neighbors have panels, haven’t heard of issues from any of them.
