If I died would my “estate” have to keep paying my apt lease? Or does that become void once you die 🤔

Technically yes, but practically no. Potentially expensive for a landlord to go after the deceased next of kin for this, likely not worth the effort, and also, socially awkward as hell.

I bet the landlord would find a way to claw the rest of the lease payments and who knows what else fees and penalties from your estate, and it would probably cost more to fight it than to just pay. That actually must happen fairly often though, there are probably some local regulations at least.
