Yeah I read this supposedly “excellent long read” only to find a bunch of bullshit opinions presented as fact. That whole section on Chinese labour being superior was equal parts “I knew a Chinese guy and he was a better worker” and “if you would just work 16 hours a day without complaining, we wouldn’t be falling behind”

It also manages, assuming it’s correct about there being no fat, drug-addicted, nor unhappy Chinese workers, to ignore completely the role socialism might be playing in these.

All that to say, these big business thinkbois are morons, and they love to glaze each other for using chat gpt to fill out a bullet list of half-conceived thoughts into a “long read”
