If you have a post with 10,000 viewers 1% of them tip .50 that’s $50 direct to creator with none of the bad feelings of speculation involved for either party We have all the building blocks for this today but don’t do it because …. ? Too hard to socialize the behavior? Profit motive — trading leads to many more txn for the chains and platforms? Content is actually valueless and no one will ever pay?

🫴 🎩 mind boggling that people stopped tipping good content. is it too uncool for the algo cabal*? *—i realize (think?) there's no literal cabal, but algo seems to think differently

What I am realizing is that you probably need stables for it to work The way Degen issued its own volatile tip currency made it a ripe target for farming

there are many who farm warpcast rewards (don't we all in a way?), and there are many who benefitted fairly from degen so i am not convinced it's necessarily broken or the system built on top of stables would be such a huge improvement currently feels more like ux and/or narrative issue

I don’t want to earn in volatile currency nor be subject to stuff like mandatory staking to earn tho I understand that ideologically the best people to do what I want with are actually Bitcoiners with Lightning. That community actually has the values But I am resistant still bc of pt 1 above

right, that's a fair point (both imo fall into the ux/narrative problem category, but i understand the reservations) warps showed how stable coin tipping might look like, but it didn't go anywhere... might be different now that people actually earn in stables, but i still think "free" allowance like degen have the best chance of bootstrapping such habit
