Ridiculous crybaby comments from Roon that people only are taking seriously because he is the one saying it It’s like when the Kardashians protested the ig algo Everything has always been slop Change is the only constant If roon or anyone else hates the algo that bad — LEAVE (they never do)

no. the feed algorithm changed dramatically & is genuinely worse. full of facebook/reddit/Youtube Shorts-style slop now. of course roon could take his ball and leave but it's valid criticism, and P(elon sees it and does something) > 0

“Genuinely worse for me and my tech friends” doesn’t mean it’s actually “genuinely worse” All of it was always slop It just was niche specific tech slop Things were contained in network clusters Now the algo favors broad appeal Kardashians whined just like this when Reels came out. Actually moved the market https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna40027 Adam Mosseri paid them a little lip service and essentially did nothing—IG today is Reels forward Roon is not quite Kardashian level Get Bill Ackman or somebody like that to whine about the algo then maybe Elon will listen

AI research twitter was awesome and had a high level of discourse before Elon. We could discuss papers and issues in the field. I made friends, found people to write papers with, raised money. Now it’s all almost all broad memes.

Sounds like the AI community needs to figure out how to make it work (Twitter has community features! Twitter lists are an underutilized tool!) or leave and find a new place to gather (private Discord? Subreddit? You could bring them here, even?)
