Btw I got menaced by a tweaker on my way to work so loving the bike much less People keep telling me to buy a gun It’s not a reasonable thing to tell a person BUT it is directionally accurate I found self defense classes instead of just going to Walmart and buying gun

How did you get to work before? It’s a shame that we prioritize things like private car travel over keeping our streets safe and protecting vulnerable populations. It creates a situation where riding a bike is good for society but bad for individuals. This has been enraging me the last few weeks, actually.

I took Lyft to work and then would get ride close enough to home I could walk back every day before. ☹️

Stuff like this makes me so mad. Coming back to Toronto after 10 years away and shitty politics has massacred my city. We have tent cities everywhere and a fearful population trying to grab what they can even at the expense of our community. I may have to do something drastic.

Long term i believe all public spaces will be like this and only those with the means to afford private spaces and private security will be safe, which is why I am investing in self defense skills. Investing in my community is a a pointless struggle especially when I don’t want to stay here 😬

Yeah I understand where you are coming from. I don't believe the future HAS to be what you have described, but it's pretty much the direction most of America is moving.
