I hope one day we can replicate the economic successes of Texas in places that are actually nice to live in. This podcast talks about how it gets so hot construction workers slur their words from dehydration, all the while water availability shrinks due to the booming population https://open.spotify.com/episode/3yg345mwA1vJznijspEflF?si=_5V6eAqWR1iwWGvEKBn1nA

Yeah the solutions after draining that aquifer nearby in circa 10 years sound tricky - turning sewage water into potable water - Saudi Arabia style conversion of salt water Saddest part was kids not able to go outside and play around 🥺

Didn't know this. Assumed the boom was because the area was more pleasant, at least the parts I didn't see.

if it's anything like their history, it's based on exploitation of low wage workers mixed with pillaging its natural resources. (they seceded TWICE to try to keep slave labor) Alaska had the right idea w/ the dividend fund (it's ubi, just do ubi)
