You should consider using 2 locks if you are riding around Austin. 

I have a Hiplock D100 anti angle grinder lock and a Kryptonite Kryptolock u-lock and cable. 

I also have an audio alarm and a bell that hides an AirTag.

Also, @jayme if you want an ebike with all this I could be persuaded. I did all that and am thinking about selling my bike because it’s unusable for commuting as its too dangerous with the homeless

It is that bad everywhere. Friend got a brick thrown at him while riding on the east side. My own incidents happened near the HEB on Oltorf and s Congress and south closer to st Edwards

Yikes, is it that bad downtown? 

I have ptsd from stolen bikes in the bay area 😅
