I did a quick and dirty categorization of occupations of the Top 50 Most Influential! Missing some nuance here (ie several folks fit across categories) but for what it is, it's fine. The biggest categories Crypto founder (40%) Merkle (founders + employees, 16%) VCs (10%) The one brand account to make the Top 50 most influential was Base. I myself come in at #58!

Need more Solana tbh. I know people on here don’t like hearing that as much. For some bizarre reason

I think there’s general tension between trader and non trader types that makes it feel that way. I don’t think there’s any particular reason why they wouldn’t come here; you can link a Solana wallet

That’s a good point. It’s definitely more a trader trait whereas those who truly building here are open to everyone.

Yes. And there's more to it I think. I don't know how to put this tactfully but like.... shitcoining while extremely profitable still definitely gives low brow no matter what spin the token launchers try to put on it. (And we are getting some serious spin on that whole enterprise now that Base is trying to win that crowd). When I look at it honestly — it kind of is lowbrow. You're playing PvP zero sum games over assets with slurs and fart in the name. Someone has to lose for you to win. Meanwhile many "OGs" on here already came to the table with significant crypto wealth or are otherwise above this whole culture. They are the group that wants highbrow. If they are in the trenches it's not all they talk about by a long shot. Going after the crowd that is hungry to get paid represents the far easier short term growth opportunity for the protocol. But that group of people is not known for necessarily creating the "interesting" content that the highbrow set is into, turns them off Does this make sense

Explains quite a bit, even beyond just here. Especially from a perspective of someone who came into this later on with an affinity for the utility. Seems like it’s a matter of balancing incentives which seem to be more and more divergent.
