What if ADHD is just a form of extreme curiosity that we’ve pathologized because modernity requires you to be a predictable widget? https://epsig.substack.com/p/the-hypercuriosity-theory-of-adhd

The people that I know with ADHD seem to find it to be a massive nuisance and quite destructive. They get so frustrated and feel betrayed by their brain because they hyperfocused too much on something which pulled time away from something they wanted to achieve... or they get mad they were distracted away when they didn't want to be. I don't know a ton about it personally but people I work with find it very frustrating.

I assume there is a gradient here of suffering, no absolutes. Ie maybe at one point ADHD only applied for whom there was 10/10 suffering, but now we apply it to everyone from 2/10 to 10/10 if that makes sense

Absolutely makes sense. I definitely don't know... but I hope medical professionals are suggesting alternatives to medication for the 2/10s. I assume that it's really helpful for people who have been diagnosed to help them essentially manage their brain and work out what works for them.
