Pesticide exposure, habitat loss, climate change, parasites, etc. These stressors all weaken bee colonies, disrupt their foraging and reproduction, and make them more vulnerable. I’m sure global warming isn’t helping either.

None of it. Air quality too has to be a factor…..

I raise mason bees and while they don’t make honey, they are excellent pollinators. They hatch early and are great for fruit trees/plants. It’s my contribution to the cause. https://warpcast.com/mathew.eth/0x7832dedf

I don’t consider myself a beekeeper by any means. It’s more of a small/backyard scale hobby. But I’ve been doing it for 6-7 years now. I started with 20 males cocoons and 20 female cocoons that a friend gave me, but they propagate so quickly! I give out about half of what I harvest in the fall (which we do over coffee and/or beers with friends) and still end up putting out probably 100 every summer. And those are just from the eggs/larva/cocoons that are in our bee house; I’m sure the bees are finding other places to lay their eggs too!
