Pesticide exposure, habitat loss, climate change, parasites, etc. These stressors all weaken bee colonies, disrupt their foraging and reproduction, and make them more vulnerable. I’m sure global warming isn’t helping either.

Since we can’t post photos, here’s a short video of one of my backyard mason bees returning to its tube after a pollen run.

Fun fact: Mason bees are superior pollinators, because unlike other bees, they cover their entire bodies in pollen, and are sort of belligerent flyers in the air. 🐝

I raise mason bees and while they don’t make honey, they are excellent pollinators. They hatch early and are great for fruit trees/plants. It’s my contribution to the cause.
