I think the reason for this absolute hatred of crypto is that the predominant modern leftist mindset depends on a belief in governance making everything better how to fix healthcare? more government involvement how to fix income inequality? more government involvement crypto is an oil and water situation when it comes to this mindset one of the most OBVIOUS governmental duties is issuing currency crypto being legitimate would mean that this, a basic core use case of governments, is outperformed by the free market it's easier to block out the possibility of this being true than to adjust your fundamental worldviews

Yes it is absolutely this government worship and not the fact that for all the money sunk into this there has been very little actual value creation and some of the industry’s most well known figures are unrepentant scammers If your logic was sound these people would like crypto because it further entrenches USD dominance via stables. More people hold and transact in dollars thanks to USDT and USDC (flaws with underlying reserves aside)

the stablecoin argument would require complex thought processes come on, you know most people can't do that but yeah you are right, as an industry our use cases are few and far between! however, the one use case you really can't argue with is we have created money without the need for a central government authority...Bitcoin is right there running for 15 years and a $1.5T market cap what type of person can't admit that that is a legitimate, amazing, invention? probably someone with their personality invested in governments being important
