Listen If you are poor (<250k salary) And a rich person is giving you an opinion — trying to convince you of something You need to immediately discount that opinion. Straight away. Build this into your mental model These people do not live in the same world as you, they have genuinely no idea about anything. And to boot they have no loyalty to country like they used to. They are a global class loyal to themselves. They do not care we all have to eat glass as long as they get their “common sense stablecoin regulation” and lower tax burden Nothing about these people makes them more worthy. They are not smarter than you either. Nor did they work harder. All of those things have been fully decoupled from success It’s too late now but maybe if there’s a next time - let’s work on this 😊

This is essentially the viewpoint in “Revolt of the Elites” by Lasch condensed into social media form I was less generous than Lasch. I defined top here as top 10% not 20.

show me someone in the top 20% who can send their kids to private schools lol that is more like the 1% esp if they have more than one kid fwiw I agree there are huge discrepancies at 20%, but also those same giant step functions occur all the way up (1%, .01%)
