“music massage” is actually a pretty good turn of phrase, love this. I don’t think most folks realize how truly aggressive most sound systems are at live music venues. once you hear other systems you can’t really un-hear it, especially if you are relative young and still have good high frequency hearing.

haha by relatively young I don’t mean 20, more like < 50. high frequency hearing loss is actually really common, most adults can’t hear above 16k hz and it gets worse pretty quickly as you age. it’s funny but some older audiophiles end up building systems with bright, piercing high ends to make up for their lack of HF hearing.
