Farcaster, against every other social media website in existence, has decided preview thumbnails need to be 3:2 instead of 1.91:1. I'm not bitter.

1.91:1 was is pre-mobile standard that is too wide and short for phones

Here is a public Figma file that shows 3:2 nested inside 1.91:1, with the 3:2 safe area in red, so you can design a 1:91:1 (because that's normal and works everywhere else) but also preserve proper look and feel for Farcaster

Fascinating rationale. My opinion on it is immaterial; at the end of the day it’s your world, we are just living in it and so must do what you say. 

As such I made a file to help people accommodate as I am sick of seeing cut off pictures

Evaluating aspect ratios for Frames V2 preview:

The current 1.91:1 standard doesn’t meet all builders’ needs, so we’re considering 5:4 or 3:2 as alternatives 🖼️.

When I look at this, I see more work and more barriers to best product just to accommodate Farcaster, with the bonus of additional surface area very few use for maximal impact anyway 🥲
