5h of skiing today and i didn’t die. nothing broken despite some gnarly wipe outs. i can semi-confidently parallel ski now but need to work on technique and not panicking when gaining lots of speed 😮💨

Always fall back to your most comfortable edge side. Do it dramatically when you’re going slow to practice and then even when you’re super good you will always fall back that at high speeds. It’s more about flowing from edge to edge than going straight down the hill. You then learn to use speed to make catching edges easier.

yep i’ve been doing that but sometimes my right leg is weaker and doesn’t put enough pressure on the ski. gotta work on that

Makes sense! Ya just practice more. and then as you get more comfortable the faster you go it actually makes it easier to catch that edge = your inertia cuts the edge. Hell ya!

that’s probably it. i was slowing down too much instead and it was harder to catch that edge with my weaker leg. great tip, ty!

This is exactly it man. It’s easy to say and talk about but it’s scary in the moment, but ya you’ll get used to actually gaining speed to push that into your stopping and it becomes so fun.
