Two things that work quite well for games - discord roles & NFTs with future utility within the game
For DeFi /L1s / L2s - we have experimented with stuff and the learning has been something thats in limited quantity ( positioned as exclusive) - for instance remember discord roles limited to 5000 being a rage. 

internally in our own ambassador program - we decided to add intrinsic incentives such as shoutout from our 1M X following ( it created a delight but not sure if it attracted more people to contribute)

shout-outs are top of level kinda things. makes people feel seen. do you know if the shout-out had an impact on the people already in the ambassador program?

Yes for sure. They raved about it for days
