The tipping feature is a really nice aspect to Farcaster. I was skeptical of it at first, but creating a culture of backpatting with stakes greater than smashing a like button breeds much more thoughtful interactions. I wonder if, at scale, it could become a meaningful source of revenue for journalism to support reporters or future publications on this platform.

Porque no los dos? I use both the Patreon model and tips and it’s all super helpful as a small time creator

Definitely don't think tipping is sufficient -- just that it could be a helpful additional source of revenue

100%, the onchain stack is kind of nice. I get patron, tips, and mint $. You can also get likes with @tipn and recasts with @ampsfun really fun legos for journalist and creators

I have tried @ampsfun but I think I initially set my price too high, so it hasn't amounted to anything for me :(

Yeah there’s a fine balance to it. You can go volume or high price but quality 🤷♂️ I guess on one hand you protected yourself from someone using your recasts as a signal of support although they do take care of really bad casts themselves (malicious). The good thing is we’re all figuring it out as we go, and certain things that work for you may not work for others. Either way glad to have you here 🫡
