How do you decide which book to read next? 

Historically for me it’s more flavor of the week (based on a friend’s rec, “You Also Might Like” algos, what the library highlights, etc) 

I’m starting to come around to a more forward-looking, topic-driven approach (kinda like a college syllabus)

Oh man I miss that! Especially used book stores. The smell of used books and the passion of store clerks makes for a enriching experience
