i was walking my friend home yesterday night and we ended up on a deeply personal topic. with tears in his eyes, he shared some stories from his childhood where he and his mom were constantly beaten up by his older brother. now he has a drinking problem, he always thinks that something is wrong with him and he can’t find a way to get better. it’s heart breaking to see your friends suffer like that, but i guess the only thing i actually can offer here is just to be around…

therapy would be a start... but they have to want change, you can't force it on them.
