Strongly agree. And the more radically decentralized, composable, immutable, and autonomous the base layer infra, the more the consumer-facing top layers can safely ignore all that and focus on UX

Disagree. On a long enough timescale, it’s both. Short term I agree with you. But also front ends are analogous to dumb terminals, they just do interaction. All the magic is in DeFi and wallets.

dApps are a composition of centralized and decentralized layers. Wallets are one of the weakest point in decentralized UX but innovations such as MPC and others could help.
