I wrote this essay back in 2021 And any of the mini clout I have in crypto la la land initially came from it going viral I still love Punks, and I think a good amount of the thinking here holds up Check it out 🤠 https://benroy.beehiiv.com/p/fat-cryptopunks-thesis

Probably the biggest dud at least so far is the ‘fractions of a punk’ or other high value NFTs. I think if people actually wanted to own these fractions then punks would be doing well in the memecoins meta.

Ultimately tho.. why not? Non-fungible tokens are tokens. Wrappers make them fungible. Does it really make sense that punks are valued less than ghost chain tokens over the long term? Or 5% of doge?

Yeah it’s a good question I think it has more to do with identity ie. wanting a full unit But who knows anymore, it could maybe happen as a meme at some point
