Upcoming channel changes

We're *previewing* some upcoming changes so people 1) can understand and 2) provide feedback.

These changes are not launching yet. It will be a couple weeks. There will also be a bunch of communication to channel owners. 

After reading the entire doc, feel free to reply to with feedback or send me a DC. I've tried to answer a lot of common questions in the FAQ.

I like the simplicity and how these features battles spam/bots effectively.

Channels will require more work from moderators, but they also feel more like communities.

I can see inviting people to 'my channels' instead of inviting them to Farcaster.

You will probably cast in a couple of channels only (those communities you really enjoy) AND your no channel home.

i wonder tho, how to join channels or let moderators know I am interested 🤔

We might need a 'join' action that requires approval from moderator?

I'm very curious to see how this new channel format will work in practice. My biggest question is about how the transition of large channels will be. And I'm also curious to see the new uses that will emerge.

they will have to deal with a standalone app for my own content. 

This _maybe_ makes sense if you have millions of readers/listeners but even the biggest creators in the world (mr beast, joe rogan, etc) don't do this because you lose new audience / traffic / network effects

If you go that route have you considered a stand alone app for the channel so you don’t have to explain what farcaster is to people that you onboard?   This might be the key to getting people past the “I don’t want to deal with another social media app” hurdle we currently have
