I recently had a discussion with the CEO of a headphone company who wants to do some kind of web3 rewards program. I'm wondering if people here have any thoughts about companies introducing web3 features that probably aren't completely necessary?

spent a few months digging into web3 reward programs and platforms that enable this 

i think the main value add is if the points are actually erc-20s that people could exchange for fiat or at other partnered companies 

requires building a network to accept the token + potential erc-20 considered a security
