as i spend time vibecoding, talking to bracky, and interacting with ai, I notice that i tend to start prompts with “please.” 

or when i want to make an update or change things, it’s less of a demand or statement and more a collaborative language like “let’s try” or “please try.” 

not sure why my prompts and request are like this but it just feels more natural for me.

According to a recent survey, about 70% of people always communicate politely with chatbots and voice assistants.

Most of the polite respondents use "thank you" and "please" just like that. But 12% believe that this will help them in the event of a machine uprising.

And now shocking content: as it turns out, politeness in communication increases the productivity of chatbots by up to 30%.

Scientists studied the behavior of AI in English, Chinese, and Japanese. The study showed that impolite requests often led to an increase in the number of errors and omissions of important information in AI responses. While polite ones increased the accuracy of the information provided.

I think users with more empathy do this.  I think others sometimes see the AI as more of a "tool" (like a hammer) so they don't add please/thanks etc.  I'm sure the AIs will remember whose who when the time comes.    being kind gets better results.

I talk to AI like it's my sidekick, I named ChatGPT Trixie, we're tight like that - I even apologize sometimes and confess when I omit an embarassing moment. It's really weird but I don't care. I say please and thank you to everyone, and now everything.  It's better than not imo
