Yeah, but its impossible to talk to this part of it, since there is precedent in other cultures to actually or historically eat dogs/cats, whatever. Its all about reinforcing the "other" but people that internalize this kind of xenophobia have layers of bias working here.

I hope it’s not impossible to talk about. I mean the most successful far-right bullshit out there is laced with random facts in hopes of securing believability. Nuance matters, history matters, intension matters. I’ve been kinda surprised not seeing the history mentioned on my timelines

Its hard. I have a fair number of friends and family that are politically right, some lightly, some hard core. I always try to focus on the attributes and commonality we share. They are, in totality good people, loving parents, kind to others. But they harbor strong views when it comes to some races or classes of people. Best remedy I've found is to forge real relationships with people outside their echo chambers, but that doesn't always work either. People need to come to the realization on their or not at all, we have to be comfortable with both outcomes, I think. My target is happy co-existence, rather than "conversion" since they believe themselves to be on the right side of the issue.

I absolutely am into co-existing with people who hold different ideas. It’s a little why I posted this. I was genuinely curious if people didn’t know this history. Goodness knows my views on things have evolved and hopefully continue to evolve I no longer have patience for disingenuous conversations.
