Observation: asked the same question on both FC and X. Only X did I have people resort to ad hominen for asking the question (and then extrapolate to Farcaster was somehow doomed). https://x.com/dwr/status/1815098555151061154

I imagined that farcaster leaned left and so have tried to be cognizant of that even when posting what I think are just funny memes (biden, trump, doesn't matter), but tbh it has seemed pretty well balanced which i was happy to see

We have very strong representation from left, right, libertarian, non affiliated and apolitical people here. People cast points of view, but it never gets nasty. Its incredible really. Wish this culture could scale, since would make the world a better place, but let's see what we can do. ✌️ 😁

That's one of the things I'm really enjoying about this place. More points of view without the polarization of an algorithm that pushes ragebait.

Exactly. It took me 8+ hours to just get my Xitter feed to be even remotely viewable after a few months of neglect. It was a steady stream of violence, political conspiracy, and rage bots trying to send me down rabbit holes. All from people I have never followed or topics I ever showed interest in. It was an account for a crypto start up! Even with that effort that content still creeps in, but I can mute/block it more easily. I never have that issue here, even from people that don't share my views. The civility and respect here is bar none the best social experience available. Obvs has a lot to do with how small and like minded we are around certain issues, but I'm hopeful we can set a tone and try to perpetuate some of this forward as culture even as we scale. I'm hopeful.
