One misconception I see about spam labeling: "I'm a real human. I'm not a bot."

Claiming "I'm not a bot" doesn't change the quality of your content. If you're farming replies and not being thoughtful, that's spam.

And saying "Oh, I was just hoping to make some money, I'll do better in the future" doesn't work. Because every spammer will say the same thing.

It's not hard to not be spammy. Just cast a little less, be a little more thoughtful.

"Why do you keep telling people what to do?"
"Stop being a hall monitor!"
"People aren't going to change."

Sure, but better to be clear upfront when we start tweak the spam labeling algorithms.

re: hall monitor — yes, I am. Quality is what drives growth, that requires rules and taste. If you don't like those rules / taste, use or build another client. Beauty of a decentralized system.

And to be clear: if you're just casting in your own timeline or channels, algo won't care about it. It's when you start taxing other people's attention (and potentially making the experience worse for others), that you might get labeled.

Agree, that's one my favorite thing about the graph. It can scale in a dozen directions once people start investing in alternate clients, which there will be many as people embrace the transition to onchain.

You actually don't have to follow the vision.

Just use or build another client. But that does require some work.
