“Mundane beauty is the most beautiful” That’s a nice thought. Can’t remember where, but I read somewhere how a lot of art is just about helping you realize the beauty in the most ordinary things that you failed to see, through making connections between already existing unexpectedly common perspectives

For the last 3 nights, just before going to sleep, I’ve been staring at a lamp in the middle of my friend’s apartment. There was something about its peculiar and unpractical location, the light it shed on the curtains. I pointed it to her and we both sat in silence, blending with the orange glow of the light in 3.7-meter-high room. It was beautiful. The lamp. The moment. The connection made possible by something so mundane. Not sure if mundane things are most beautiful (the most stunning beauty I’ve ever experienced come from nature after lots of struggle, like 24h march or a hike) but I’m pretty sure a mind state that allows to see a beauty in mundane is definitely something worth thriving for everyday.
