Thoughts are weird. Sometimes you have them, and they pop into your head unannounced For example — I remembered a baseball interview I watched of Roy Halliday talking about pitching: on how good pitchers have good stuff on good days, but great pitchers know how to still pitch on bad days

Why would I remember this? And why would I remember this now? Speaking of Roy Halliday though, he was a consummate professional. I think showing up and being a professional really is the difference between an amateur and a professional whatever that means

this is proof-of-baseball-fan halladay was so impressive. I also appreciated his efficiency. he was always figuring out how to go deep into games. reminds me of greg maddux, who is probably my favorite pitcher of all time.
