Excited? Being Republican, intelligent, politically astute, physically attractive, non-white combat vet is a rarity. The fact that she switched from Dem to Rep makes her a walking appeal towards moderates. Dislike? Switching questions loyalty, plus conspiracies around why she did it. She's made comments that were pro-Russian in context of Ukraine.

I dislike her because I think she's an imperialist and a grifter. She tried joining the Bernie movement when that was popular, and copied a lot of his language but then would say pro-imperialist, Islamophobic, and other problematic things so the left didn't trust her which turned out to be correct as she swung way over to the right after that didn't pan out to grift off the Trump movement.

She defies many conventions, which makes her difficult to pin down in an era when people are typically so easy to pin down (I think about this @sriramk.eth tweet a lot: https://x.com/sriramk/status/1787269252526878800?s=46&t=zzSx7VdmeK4eopNEqpwLtw) - Her political lineage is Bernie so she’s very principled, but unlike most Bernie folks she’s very opinionated about foreign policy - She’s among the few (I can’t think of any others) female public figures who’s a physical and intellectual sigma. We’re not accustomed to that. - She switched parties after becoming as a Girardian sacrifice by the Dems - Her ethnic identity is non-obvious

My angle is that she's like a karma hire. By seeking justice and transparency, she serves to clean the record on corruption within the intelligence branches and can help revert the real and perceived feeling that the US government is hostile towards its own people. The evidence used to frame her as opposed to US national interest mainly comes down to an apparent meeting with Assad - in that respect she's no different than Trump, who will pretty much meet with anybody, in a spirit of dialogue and detente.
