500 $Degen Love what some projects are doing around curation staking as I think that discoverability (in art, writing, etc) is one of the most important problems to solve this decade with noise (aka clickbait) & large publishers being rewarded more than genuine, quality content creators.

$degen has been overwhelming to dive into, but very cool that you tagged me. How do you art in the ecosystem? I agree that discovery is the holy grail, but I think staking is unnecessary friction for patronage/curation. A social graph like FC with signal for reputation is the path imo

create whatever checks the fun crypto vibes & share in degen channel! you’re right that staking is more barrier than solution near-term + good curation done by individuals. On global scale / Warpcast, we may need a financial component to get enough people interested in curation & for quality not to drown in noise.

Roger that. I think artists also generally price too high. Free/low cost mints are a great way to build on-chain rep. I think the art is the financial incentive itself. Collect good art -> profit. It's not a short term game.

No one be picking up my free mints, I think the problem is that: 1. No one cares about art anymore, it’s just a popularity contest now 2. Ai art and the number of artists in the space is too much, the market is oversaturated now 3. Very few collectors who want to collect something non flippable

These are all fair points. I think it can start with artists though. Did you experience og Tezos art a few years back? Artists care, and will collect from artists and surface consensus that will incentivize collectors.

My first mint was in tezos actually, someone actually gave me tez to mint on their platform. I don’t want artists to collect my art, it’s the same group of people and tbh there’s not many collectors around atm who are actively collecting art.

I didn’t understand it back then and I still don’t.. but I also saw so many artists do stuff on Tezosz What was the reason for it? :) I even looked at one of the main pages that many artists seemed to like but similar platforms were available elsewhere too.

A lot of tez platforms onboarded artists by giving them tokens to mint on them, very few of us actually used our own money to mint back in the day. Gas prices were crazy on eth and the tez community was popping on clubhouse and twitter which also attracted a lot of collectors. The whole ecosystem was buzzing
