I noticed that open source seems to come natural for folks based out of Berlin. Any theories as to why? When I was hiring applicants out of Berlin had a notable open source contributions. Their projects are often well structured with clear instructions for contributions. Many open source / paid hosted products.

Extrapolate the social dynamics and purist ideals of the original Berlin techno music scene to devs. The ETH hackathon this year during Berlin blockchain week was super well designed, with true from the heart focus on identity, privacy and decentralisation.
