"Best money" needs to be clarified a bit. Best for what? If it's as a medium of exchange you probably don't want the currency to appreciate over time, you want it to be stable.

Another counterpoint to this is that the properties you seek from the money settlement layer (permissionless, censorship resistant, credible neutrality and permanent availability) can't be inherited by the financial system unless this settlement layer is Turing complete. Which allows you to settle arbitrary logic.

ya i think this is one of those takes that sounds sorta smart in a tweet, but is actually really bad money itself isn’t a “thing”, it’s used by the economic system and is “good” or “bad” based on the economy it’s in ethereum is aiming to be the best economy, so it’ll have the best money
