More and more sites are waging a war against VPN usage - I recently had my bank account portal locked because they detected a VPN - I can no longer access imgur or creditkarma with a VPN turned on - Many people are reporting issues with Reddit on a VPN (not me, yet) privacy is normal

Is it deliberate anti-privacy, or collateral damage from malicious traffic egressing from the same VPN IP as non-malicious traffic? Is there a way for a service to effectively protect themselves from the former without affecting the latter?

great Q, i don't know! I imagine it's a mix of both but mostly being collateral damage. Sybil resistance is a problem everywhere & I imagine parties like my bank are actually just trying their best to be as secure as possible but don't actually have the most technically competitive teams & just do whatever's easiest!
