Last cycle I intentionally did not build a “real world application” because it felt like the world wasn’t ready. We’re a lot closer today with adoption on layer 2 and smart wallets but I think we still need another 1-2 years to solve fragmentation and abolish seed phrases before it’s full steam ahead.

I tinkered and experimented with a few ideas that were mostly gimmicks for web3 natives. I never shipped anything, though this would have been a great experience. I also did hackathons which was a ton of fun.

what kept you from shipping? maybe that’s why we still haven’t seen killer mainstream apps

A few reasons: 1) Low confidence in user adoption just made me think it wouldn’t be worth the effort to put in the 10x effort to go from proof of concept to product. 2) Immutability of contracts makes it hard to ship an MVP. 3) It takes time to build up confidence in yourself to deploy a contract that secures $. As a solo dev I’m probably not shelling out for audits.
