Being self employed comes with positives and negatives. You can largely decide which hours you want to work (depending on other life commitments) but the office parties tend to be a bit low-key. What are your favourite things about being self employed, and what do you absolutely hate, or miss from having an employer?

Totally agree. It's really hard both from an economic perspective and a psychological perspective to not know how much money is coming in every month. I too miss working with other people. It's hard bearing the weight of responsibility alone, plus it's always good to have people alongside to chat to and share experiences with.

yea man. i sometimes think that Iā€™m right at the middle of the midwit meme trying to make something important happen or that fills my need for accomplishment but the easier that life would be just following the herd feels like a relief ngl

Definitely, but then you think about the positives and you change your mind again. Grass is always greener. Plus, i think there are particular people who just have to be self employed because their needs aren't met other ways. They just don't fit as cogs in machines, because they're their own machine instead.
