Anatomy of a load. 200-250lbs of gear and food, bear boxes to keep that food un-eaten by bears, ropes, tarps, elaborate and specific knots. A load can ride 25 miles on rough trail if packed properly. There was a full sweet potato pie, a $200 bottle of scotch, and 2 personal-sized watermelons in this load.

damn this is so cool. i have a friend that used to do something similar to this on chile, but with 30% of this gear lol it was only for people that didn't want to walk the 4 hours from the car to cochamo (picture attached) with their stuff

Western CA and several countries in South America are some of the last places with packing culture. I'd love to see how they pack in Chile! It's great tech for increasing wilderness accessibility with minimal impact. We do moving trips that cover 100s of miles of wilderness.
