spent a lot of time today visiting different irl shops and businesses. 3 cafes and a store. and in all of the interactions that i had to pay, i was thinking to myself: what needs to happen so that i can ask this person if i can pay with my dickbutt tokens on base? or “my crypto” (as a vehicle of transaction. @daimo pay’s approach is a game changer). but basically the store always receives “the same crypto”, which they need to be able to fully convert to fiat money instantly with fees that are cheaper than the 3% their current debit/credit card machine providers ask them for whoever creates this interface and makes it better than what we have today will change the world and our industry imho how far are we from that?

We will get there for sure at some point! I believe the main question is with liquidity, if it's good enough payment providers like @daimo @paywithglide superchain cross-chain swaps etc can support most of the tokens Other aspect changing the rails is not optimal today unless it becomes the mainstream for most of the sellers either because of customer demand to use dickbutt or it's completely new region / experience. But ultimately, we haven't even passed USDC/USDT/... global payments adoption, supporting other tokens comes after.

In the U.S., spending crypto for goods and services is taxable. The laws around this need to change.

Tech no a problem, it's already out there being offered by many provides; the real problem is the bias of the local merchant towards shiny new tech that isn't being pushed by their local banks. Remember that most card processors are ultimately owned by banks

Cash from Ether.fi will get you most of that soon. You won't have to ask, just use your visa card. The merchant still gets charged but you're using crypto and more of the fees go back to the user than typical CCs.

crypto needs to be as simple as tapping a card but cheaper for merchants. whoever nails that combo is about to disrupt the entire payment game
