We've got 150 daily active users in /stokefire. We have a kernel of something that is working. Now I just need to keep building, iterating, listening to players and making it better.

big congrats man today my village almost died. and that made me think how psychologically hard it would be to start all over from scratch, which I would probably not do how have you thought about this? how to motivate people to come back after this happened?

Yeah, I think a couple of things. I'm going to give an option to buy a 1up or extra life in case that does happen. 2. probably going to make it so you have a less harsh punishment with a little more time to stoke afterwards.

Forget to Stoke Fire. 1 hut burns and you get another six hours. Still don't make it 2 huts burn and you get 10 more hours. Still don't make it 3 more huts burn and you get 15 more hours. Keep increasing n huts burned and incrementing to the next triangle number, T. T=((n+2)(n+3))/2 Not Enough huts to burns, get the next T/n hours for the last n you were able to "afford". This has an increasing cost (burned huts) but decreasing penalty (as time to return from huts burning increases). Makes it a little nicer if someone falls ill or can't get $FIRE or whatever. Also directly effects the village size once you stoke as you have less huts to house villagers.
