In most cases, I agree with this. General topic channels don't work well in the new model. They were built an era of channels as hashtags. There will be some exceptions, but will require a lot of work from the channel owner and moderators to make sure a large channel becomes and stays a community.

They should be like a group chat but private. Have a vibe, a group of friends or intellectuals or something. They should feel like something.

Every big channel should be dozens of smaller channels with a point of view. I don’t have an example of a big channel I’m excited about but the best content is in my iMessage/Signal/WhatsApps group chats and I would love to see them migrate here (at least the ones that wouldn’t get me canceled)
