Is it fair to say developing for Solana is harder than for EVM?

i'm setting up solana dev env for the first time, currently 20 min in, i believe what i need to do is upgrade my entire OS next.

issues i've run into:
1. it uninstalled my Rust and installed a new Rust
2. it was hardcoded to use a version of git without any creds so it failed
3. now my ubuntu is too old

my approach to the situation has been from the perspective of creating a miniapp. and then ask ai what to do to deploy its backend using solana. i feel im deep lost in the weeds and don't understand almost anything of what im doing
